Our main activity for younger people in our church is JUNIOR CHURCH. This is a more
contemporary form of ‘Sunday School’, offering many fun activities, audiovisual input,
and various games and quizzes, and so on, all related to Bible stories. Junior Church
is run dedicated and enthusiastic team drawn from parents and church members, all
of whom are CRB-checked. The age range of Junior Church is from 3 to 18 years old,
although we do ask that pre-school children are supervised by a parent. Babies and
toddlers can stay with their parents in the church during the service in our carpeted
Family pews, where toys are provided.
Junior Church begins every Sunday morning except the third Sunday, at 10 am in St.
Mary's Church. After spending a few minutes in Church, sharing in our 'Family Time'
, Notices and lively songs, the children leave to spend time in our adjacent Stable
Room. An ideal small classroom size!
On the first Sunday of the month, the secondary-school age young people have their
own separate group in Lydiard Park Stable Block. They can also join our Partnership
Youth Project Emerge activities: Remix, TGIF, Youth Cafe, GEN2GEN, School Lunch Clubs,
and Impact which meet at other times of the week.
The young people return to Church to share in the final part of a Communion Service.
On the third Sunday they remain in church throughout for an All Age Family Service,
in which they play an active part.
Do bring your children to Junior Church; you will get a warm welcome, and you can
come along too at first, to help them settle in if necessary. It is a wonderful way
to help your children gain a deeper understanding of what the Christian faith is
