With craft activities and games normally in our Stable Room, Junior Church is where 3-11 year olds can learn about Jesus, and ask questions about the rich stories of the Bible. Meanwhile in church for the 0-2s, there are toys and books in our carpeted Family Pew where parents can sit and enjoy the service.
Our partnership project, known as ‘Emerge’ is based at Holy Trinity church, Shaw. We seek to reach out to local young people to explore with them the good news of Jesus; to help them develop new talents and skills; build self-confidence and social skills; and engage with the wider world through community projects and fundraising for charitable causes.
We also offer two clubs for young people with special educational needs. The Emerge youth project also links with our Primary Schools work to provide a ‘joined-up’ service to our community.
Our Church Partnership has links with 8 Primary Schools in West Swindon. Folk from St Mary’s and all our partner churches are involved as part of the Schools Work Team through the year. Events and activities include assemblies, RE support, Christmas and Easter Experiences, visits to our churches, ‘Open the Book’, and Holiday Clubs.
